CAREER CENTER

The Rutgers-Camden Career Center (CC) offers a comprehensive career development program beginning with the student’s first year of college. Major emphasis is given to helping students choose and prepare for a career and / or graduate or professional study.

Students can explore career possibilities through individual and group sessions. Nationally recognized assessment inventories assist students in analyzing their personal traits and interests and provides a stimulus for students to conduct career research and make good decisions.

State-of- the-art hardware, software and visual media are available to assist students with resume writing, interviewing strategies, employer/graduate school research, and searching for jobs / internships. Access to jobs, internships and on-campus recruiting is provided 24/7 through the Career Center’s on-line system.

Through a variety of workshops, special seminars, large-scale job fairs, and a graduate/professional school fair, students are aided in identifying career goals, developing employment / academic prospects/professional skills, and implementing a career management plan.

Part-time, summer and internship experiences enable students to test career choices and gain experience required by the employment community. Over 1200 Rutgers alumni are available, through the Alumni Career Network Program to provide career assistance and advice to students.

While the Career Center does not guarantee job placement, the ongoing job development program and on-campus recruiting program enhance the prospects for employment with both regional and national employers before and after graduation.
