A Life Changing Experience!

Rutgers-Camden will engage in projects during Spring Break with travel dates of March 18, 2013 through March 22, 2013. The objectives of the ASB program are to involve students in weeklong community-based service projects and to provide opportunities for engagement in activities that benefit the environment, the community, and those in need.
New Jersey - Sandy Relief Trip
Sunday, March 17th-Tuesday, March 19th
The Local ASB is looking for volunteers for New Jersey!
Are you interested in rebuilding the State of New Jersey? Join us to explore how universities and communities can come together to improve the quality of life for people in our state!
The 3 day experience will allow you to volunteer your time and expertise over the spring break to help residents, businesses, nonprofit organizations and local officials rebuild after Hurricane Sandy and here in Camden. Over two days in the area affected by Hurricane Sandy in Central New Jersey, we will work with local organizations to clean‐up devastated areas and rebuild in a resilient manner. We will conclude the local ASB working with the community gardening efforts currently taking place in the Waterfront South Camden through the Center for Environmental Transformation. Neighborhood activists and organizations are attempting to change the face of this post-industrial neighborhood while they "meet the need for a sustainable and healthy source of fresh produce for the children and adults of Waterfront South" through community gardening initiatives.
The trip will cost each student $50 that will be paid in two $25 installments on February 15th and March 1st. In addition, you must be in good academic and judicial standing with the university. A cumulative GPA of 2.5 is required.
More information and the application can be found at http://newstudents.camden.rutgers.edu/alternative_spring_break_nj. The cost of the trip is $50. Applications are due by Friday, February 15th. Limited space available.
